The endurance event, organised by Action Medical Research, saw 11 teams setting out at midnight to tackle a 40 mile course around the county of Rutland, taking in swathes of countryside, a number of villages and a section around Rutland Water.
Rawlinsons, based in Lincoln Road, entered two teams, Rawlinsons Girls and Rawlinsons Boys with the challenge of raising a joint total of around £3,000.
While the Boys forged ahead at the beginning, it was the Girls who completed the course, as a team, after almost 18 hours of walking.
The Girls’ team was led by Rawlinsons associate Tracey Richardson. She said: “I think I can safely say it was one of the hardest physical challenges any of us have ever tackled although there were some unforgettable moments during the Plod. Watching the sun come up over the countryside was a high point while our rather too close encounter with a herd of cows was memorable for the wrong reasons!
“Our colleagues at Rawlinsons have been very generous in their support, sponsoring us, organising car boot sales, cake sales and other fund raising activity to help boost the total.”
