BEERS - NCISS Vinson Award 09082012
At the September 08th annual meeting and elections of NCISS in Boston, Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI, was elected the NCISS Secretary services on the Board of Directors and Executive Council. Dean had previously served as a Regional Director for NCISS since 2009, most recently for CO, AZ, WY and NE.
In addition, at the annual awards banquet, NCISS announced the creation of the annual Vinson Award. This award is named in honor of NCISS co-founder and past president, John Vinson. The recipient is a Regional Director, chosen by the Executive Council, who exemplifies the goals Mr. Vinson had for NCISS, work in their region and for NCISS. Of receiving the award, Dean said, "It is a great and unexpected honor," and in being the first recipient, he said, "It was almost a speechless moment."
Dean is a Certified Legal Investigator (CLI) and expert in criminal defense homicide and civil equivocal death investigations. He has lectured extensively and authored multiple articles, peer-reviewed white papers, and provided expert testimony on Protocols of Private Investigation, and Forensic Investigation of Injury Pattern Analysis. He authored Professional Locate Investigations and recently completed Practical Methods for Legal Investigations:
