“Basically, I need to keep myself entertained & interested in my own show,” says Whitaker. “I have to keep it fresh, while simultaneously maintaining the integrity & relativeness to The Beatles".
Ray credits his wife, Laurel, with encouraging him to start his own show after noticing he was having trouble working within the confines of a traditional radio job. “She said to me, ‘Will you just stop the madness and do your own show - you know you want to!’” Ray explains. And in the winter of 2008, Just Four Guys was created from Ray’s studio in Martha’s Vineyard.
Along with themed shows, Just Four Guys still continues to evolve. One of the newest features is ‘Another Just Four Guys’ - which focuses on other notable four-guy bands that can co-exist in the same hour with The Beatles, including: Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Who & Living Colour.
You can hear Ray Whitaker’s ‘Just Four Guys’ show every Sunday at 9 am (pt) and his daily show on Monday thru Friday from 9 am to Noon (pt) on Beatles-A-Rama!!!
