Sept. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- The award-winning firm has seen major growth since forming in 1972 in Worthing and now employs more than 100 people, developing products used across a wide range of sectors from healthcare to renewable energy.

Parafix, which moved to its current base on Lancing Business Park in 1984 and also has a factory in Hungary, continues to play an active part in the local community. The company is a keen sponsor of local charities, including the Chestnut Tree House, and also sponsors local sports activities including golf, Sussex County Cricket Club and Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

The firm’s community and business efforts have been recognised through several awards including Manufacturer of the Year at the 2010 Worthing Business Awards, Company of the Year trophy at the 2011 Sussex Business Awards and recognition in the Manufacturer of the Year category at the 2011 Southern Business Awards.

Staff and friends at Parafix will be celebrating next month at Pangdean Barn in Pyecombe with a barn dance and hog roast.

Steve Barwick, Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “Everyone at Parafix is enormously proud to have played an important role in the Parafix journey, which has seen the company grow into one of the UK’s leading adhesive tape converters, bringing employment to the local area.

“We now work with global brands such as 3M to provide bonding solutions to a growing number of clients, and we are very excited about the years to come as we continue to expand and develop.”

The work of converting adhesive materials (http://www.parafix.com/en/index.cfm/applications/masking-...) often goes unseen but is embedded in numerous industries including electronics, automotive, aerospace, renewable energy and healthcare. Parafix products sit in appliances that people use every day, from cars to mobile phones, and some areas that are less obvious.

For example, Parafix has added the spring in ballet dancers’ steps by providing parts for dance floors, helped steer cars with power assisted steering components, bonded mobile phone screens, helped treat cuts and scrapes with plasters and has even helped ladies avoid a clothing faux pas with fashion tapes.
