Future Vertical Lift Strategic Plan Signed by the Deputy Secretary of Defense

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 21, 2012 - The Deputy Secretary of Defense has signed the Strategic Plan for United States Department of Defense Vertical Lift Aircraft.  WBB has been supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-sponsored Future Vertical Lift Initiative since its inception in August of 2008.  Employing a WBB-developed Capability Portfolio Management (CPM) process, the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Initiative identified the capability gaps in vertical lift aviation (helicopters, tiltrotors), developed a resourced implementation plan to mitigate those gaps, and wrote a Strategic Plan to Define, Design, Develop and Deliver the Next Generation of Vertical Lift Aircraft to the Warfighter.  The signing of the Future Vertical Lift Strategic Plan on 30 August 2012 marked the culmination of this 4 year effort to improve the state of Vertical Lift Aircraft for all of the Department of Defense, to include the US Coast Guard.
