"It's pretty freaking awesome." says Tommy Griffith, creator of the online class and extremely adept at shamelessly interviewing himself for press releases. "At first, I thought only my friends and family would be giving me good reviews. Wrong. Turns out there are lots of people interested in getting their website ranked higher in search engines and just absolutely crushing it."
The ClickMinded SEO training course, a 5-hour, 61 lecture online class, has been designed to help students raise their rankings in search engines and bring in more targeted traffic.
"People seem to like it." Griffith reiterated. "One guy told me it was 'just crazy, stupid good.'"
When asked what some of his favorite SEO tactics were, Griffith noted "I mostly try to create good content, but that's boring to talk about. Sometimes I like to do press releases that have the keyword I'm targeting in the title, and mentioned once or twice in the body copy." Later, when asked to clarify, he added "But if you overdo it, it can sound spammy and unnatural. I'd rather write up something ironic and funny, with my keyword casually mentioned throughout, and try to get syndicated links from it that way."
Griffith, who thinks he's way more hilarious than he actually is, noted that ClickMinded started as a face-to-face SEO class in San Francisco earlier this year, but was re-purposed as an online training course just a few short months ago.
