Rick and his wife, Iliana, also a Licensed Massage Therapist, came to the Gainesville area about 3 years ago from the Tampa Bay area of Florida, where he spent 20 years working with professional, amateur and collegiate athletes from all major sports. While in Florida, Rick and Iliana enjoyed active referrals from various physicians and dentists for the treatment of various conditions including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, chronic back issues, headaches, TMJ Dysfunction as well as numerous other medical conditions. Rick and Iliana quickly developed a positive reputation among the north Georgia athletes, who now find it difficult to book appointments with them. “Since the clients were having trouble getting appointments, they began asking who we would recommend. So we began training the other massage therapists on our staff and then decided that we needed to go ahead and start a school, to keep up with the demand for advanced quality massage therapy services”, says Iliana.
Rick has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 22 years in Florida and Georgia. He is also the owner of Hands on Healing Massage Center. Rick also possesses a Bachelors of Science Degree in Healthcare Management and is formerly certified as a North Carolina State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Rick has held national certifications in Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and practices Medical Massage Therapy for pain and injury as well as stress reduction and relaxation.
