PRLog - Sep. 21, 2012 - CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. -- Norristown's year-long Bicentennial Celebration will finish with a flourish, the giant parade of the Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association in association with their annual convention, which is being hosted by Norristown's Fire Department. The parade will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 starting at 1 p.m.
The 2012 FASP Convention and Parade is coming to Norristown.
Firefighters from around the state will be competing for prizes and trophies will be awarded in 40 categories at the parade, including categories for marching bands, Dalmations and antique apparatus.
With over 250 fire trucks, at least 12 bands, and many other civic groups participating, it will be a great opportunity to get out, meet the neighbors, see some fantastic fire engines and other apparatus, and show appreciation to some of the state's firefighters during the hours-long event.
The parade will start on Marshall Street at Buttonwood, continue on Marshall to Astor, then to Main Street where the reviewing stand will be located at Main & Swede. The parade continues on Main Street until it ends at Arch.
