London born songwriter Caroline Ty produces alternative Nu-jazz-pop with dark bluesy vocals and richly lyrical song themes, a fusion of electronic and organic. Music you can dance to, but with a dark undertone somewhere in the chord changes, as if not all is well at the party. Influenced musically by artists such as Dead can Dance, Pet Shop Boys and Massive Attack. Inspired vocally by expressive singers like Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield, who tell the story of the song sincerely and without vocal acrobatics. Lyrical influences are songwriters like Nick Cave, Guy Garvey and Leonard Cohen, who use strong imaginary and original poetic language.
Recorded and produced by Caroline Ty in her studio in Kent, England all four tracks are self-penned and performed with mixing and mastering at Transmission Studios based in Hove.
