I welcome your ideas and suggestions. Thank you for your vote of confidence!" John Otieno is internationally recognized for his persistent agenda of helping address the African Youth Crisis. He has addressed several high level meetings that express and observe youth interests both in Africa and in Diaspora. He has served on various youth committees including the Earth Council Embassy Trust and as the President of African Youth Alliance for Change (AYAC). Through his leadership, John received an honorary doctorate degree in Leadership and Administration from Yeshua International School in London and has won numerous awards. John Otieno serves on the boards of several organizations including the Earth Council Embassy Trust, Global Youth Wash Program, Society of Hope, Africa Innovations Awards. "I was among the youths who risk their lives assembling to provide security to villagers from marauding cattle raiders when the government had all the machinery to do so. "I was one of them who had to walk barefoot for kilometers seeking Primary Education. "Not long ago, I was one of them who had to survive on roasted maize for lack of enough money in his parents´ wallet to afford services of a posho mill. "I am also one among those who could risk going to the streams searching for pasture for livestock during the dry seasons. "These experiences instill within myself exemplary strength, and with my abilities coupled with the many stories I have listened to from friends, with inspiration not only to form part of the founding team of an organization that fights for gender parity, but has also made me include gender equality as a core element in my campaigns and eventually in our Constituency in 2013 if I am are elected."
