With three Grade One jump races on the first day of the festival - including the William Hill King George VI Steeple Chase, one of the premier steeple chases in the UK – to be followed by another classic day of racing, this is a date in the calendar to look forward to all year round.
Last year guests were fortunate enough to bear witness to the legendary Kauto Star’s unprecedented fifth win in the George VI Chase, when he surpassed the celebrated Desert Orchid’s tally. Should the history-making steed race once more this year, attendees might have another historic moment for their scrapbooks – especially if the much-loved horse was to take victory once more.
Phil White, General Manager for Kempton Park, said: “The William Hill Winter Festival at Kempton Park is part of the staple diet for thousands of racing enthusiasts at Christmas and a target for so many of the top Jump horses in the country”.
“Fans of sport love Boxing Day at Kempton Park, and especially the William Hill King George VI Chase, the showpiece race made so famous by the exploits of racehorse legends Desert Orchid and Kauto Star. We are anticipating another highly competitive race and are already excited about the prospect of welcoming the top steeple chase horses to Kempton Park”.
“The best way for racing fans to guarantee their place to enjoy the top class sporting action at the two-day Festival is to book a ‘Cracker’ admission ticket in advance.”
Why not take in all this racing with a special trip to our Panoramic Restaurant, with an unbeatable view of the racecourse and luxurious food and drink on offer? Alternatively, you might simply wish to get a little closer to the action, and Kempton has a great range of food and drink venues out next to the course, including a Costa Coffee and Trattoria Pizzeria. You might also wish to join us in one of our bars around the course, including the brand new Kauto Star Bar.
Visitors can purchase tickets online, via the box office on 0844 579 3008, or by heading to the Winter Festival site at www.boxingdayraces.co.uk. Tickets will be available to buy on the day of the festival, subject to availability.
Should you be looking to expand your horizons a little, you may wish to consider a ‘cracker’ ticket – including admission, a racecard, a £10 online bet with William Hill, free drink and a discount on your next trip to Kempton. These will be available only in advance. A limited allocation of free parking is available, as well as several paid areas in addition at a cost of up to £5 for the day.
