The Doors, Joe Satriani, Swan Lake, And Many More Lead Off Specticast’s Fall 2012 Season

North America's fastest growing all-digital private network company continues to impress with its fall 2012 line-up of alternative content!

Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia-based distribution company, SpectiCast Entertainment, is leading off its fall 2012 season with a string of new alternative content titles with appeal for audiences of all ages.  The impressive and varied titles that make up SpectiCast’s fall 2012 newest titles demonstrate the company’s appreciation for both venue need and audience demand.
Starting in September, SpectiCast will screen GISELLE IN 3D and MATTHEW BOURNE’S SWAN LAKE, two riveting titles from its BALLET in HD collection.  The former, filmed from the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, is the world’s first ballet in 3D and features world-famous prima ballerina Natalia Osipova.  The latter is a remarkable adaptation of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet that replaces the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble.
From the week of September 28 – October 7, 2012, SpectiCast will premiere MANHATTAN SHORT, the world’s first global film festival, now in its 15th year of production.  Chosen from thousands of submissions across the globe, the ten finalists that make up the series represent some of the best in the short film format; audiences across the world will view the finalists throughout the week and vote on which they think is the best title, with the winner announced from NYC on October 7.  The festival was created to foster an appreciation for an often over-looked branch of cinema, as well as to develop an experiential cinematic event unlike any other.   An additional treat for film-lovers will come just in time for Halloween with George’s Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, remastered, colorized, and in 3D, which SpectiCast will distribute for one week only beginning October 24.
The fall season also sees the distribution of four titles that make up SpectiCast’s new CONCERT FILM SERIES, beginning with PAT METHENY: THE ORCHESTRION PROJECT.   Based on a childhood fascination with a player piano, THE ORCHESTRION PROJECT features 19-time Grammy Award winner PAT METHENY performing his Orchestrion (a mechanically controlled mini-orchestra capable of responding to his touch on the guitar) on the big screen, in 3D and Dolby Surround 7.1.  The series also includes ANDRÉ RIEU LIVE IN MAASTRICHT 2012, featuring the “King of Waltz,” as Rieu is known, as he celebrates 25 years of musical collaboration with the Johann Strauss Orchestra.  The series continues with THE DOORS: LIVE AT THE BOWL ’68, the complete concert (still hailed as one of the Doors’ best live performances), remastered and in 5.1 Surround Sound, available for the first time on the big screen. The film also includes “You Had To Be There,” a 20-minute pre-feature of interviews with the surviving band members reflecting on the importance of the concert for their legacy.   The final title in the ongoing series will be JOE SATRIANI: SATCHURATED - LIVE IN MONTREAL – the first the first 3D theatrical concert film release with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound.
Rounding out the season are a series of opera classics– VERDI’S ATTILA, MASSANET’S WERTHER, and PUCCINI’S MANON LESCAUT – filmed live from St. Petersburg, Karlsruhe, and Chemnitz, respectively, both shot in brilliant HD and recorded before live audiences.  SpectiCast will also distribute OPERA ON ICE, a family-friendly ice-skating feature, filmed at the open-air area in Verona, Italy, with accompaniment from classics such as AIDA, CARMEN, LA TRAVIATA, and others.
