Chef Juan Montalvo joins the Culinary Team from the fitting South Florida and is this year’s Assistant Executive Chef. After graduating Manga Cum Laude from The International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Chef Montalvo went to to further his education with the American Personal & Private Chef Association (APPCA). With a passion for nutrition and healthy homemade food, Chef Montalvo began The Hungry Cuban, a personal chef service providing exceptional nutritious foods to a vast selection of clients on a daily and entertaining basis. “The skills of a personal chef are crucial to creating a festival as unique as the Boca Raton Wine & Food Festival,” mentions Chef Blakley, "I'm happy thrilled to have Juan by my side as my assistant Executive Chef!"
With over nine years of experience in restaurants and hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental and the Four Seasons, Chef Wes Bonner is more than qualified when it comes to flawless execution. In 2009, Chef Bonner decided to pursue his love for teaching and combined this with his work with the Publix Apron’s program. “He has a strong and contagious desire for others to enjoy what they are doing in the kitchen, a key asset with the high demand of such a large festival,” states Chef Blakley.
Next in the Culinary Team line up is another native South Floridian, Chef Lenore Nolan-Ryan. After twenty years in San Francisco owning and operating an award-winning restaurant, catering company and retail gourmet market, Chef Nolan-Ryan returned to South Florida, to charming Lauderdale-By-
Rounding out the exceptional Culinary Team is New York City born and raised, Chef David Stample. A passion for the fast paced life in the culinary industry has taken Chef Stample on an exciting journey, with opportunities and experiences working with Chef Bobby Flay, Chef Michael Moran and many other Food Network stars. Chef Blakley recognizes that, “His work at The Atlanta, The South Beach and The New York City Wine and Food Festivals and Boca Burger Battle give Chef Stample the experience and edge needed to work such an grand culinary event.”
