Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Friday, September 21, 2012 from 10am - 10pm the Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network will host a Tweet-A-Thon via their website SCTPN.net.  The object of the Tweet-A-Thon is to use social media as a platform to raise awareness about both Sickle Cell Disease  and the efforts of the organization. The goal is to raise a total of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) through social donations and SCTPN.net.

A Tweet -A - Thon is  an online event using the Twitter platform.Twitter users focus all of their tweets on a particular issue. The entire community agrees to attach a particular #tag to their posts such as #1ViralVoice. In this instance we will be using #1ViralVoice as a point of reference along with the phrase Sickle Cell. Throughout  the day supporters will be encouraged to attach a series of #1ViralVoice campaign  collateral to their posts. A list of #1ViralVoice campaign collateral  information can be found on SCTPN.net.

Here are a few tips:
1. Each tweet must be 140 characters or fewer.
2. Topics and themes can have #tags (pron: hash-tag).
3. Twitter users have @usernames and that is how you refer to them.

The Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network  created the #1ViralVoice Sickle Cell Awareness  Tweet - A-Thon in  an effort to boost social awareness, increase social-media literacy in the organization and raise money for Sickle Cell related project in the tri-state area.
