Wireless Innovation Forum Board Votes to Honor Past Award Winners with Honorary Lifetime Membership

Wireless Innovation Forum Board of Directors has modified the membership policy to grant Honorary Lifetime Memberships to past Forum award winners.
 
Sept. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- The Wireless Innovation Forum (www.WirelessInnovation.org), a non-profit international industry association dedicated to driving the future of radio communications and systems worldwide, is delighted to announce today that its Board of Directors has modified the membership policy to grant Honorary Lifetime Memberships to past Forum award winners.

The Forum has historically bestowed three awards annually: International Achievement Award, Presidents’ Award and Technology of the Year. Nominations for the International Achievement Award and Technology of the Year are made by the membership beginning in September and awarded during the annual technical conference and exposition SDR-WInnComm (http://Conference.WirelessInnovation.org). The Industry/ International Achievement Award is presented to an individual, group of individuals, or organization that made especially significant contributions to international furtherance or acceptance of Software Defined or Cognitive Radio. The Contributor/Presidents Award is presented to individuals in recognition of their sustained outstanding contributions in support of the Wireless Innovation Forum and its activities. Technology of the Year is presented to an individual or organization for a breakthrough product or technology in the field of software defined or cognitive radio as selected by the members.

Honorary membership includes:  
•   unlimited electronic participation, including group collaboration site access,
•   member discounts on meetings and events, and
•   participation in Forum groups and activities.

Honorary members cannot hold a leadership position in the Forum or vote in Forum matters.
