Reflecting the Africa region as a whole, the Island of Reunion has seen a large increase in mobile data usage and the company is looking to build on their existing customer care policies by introducing a bill shock capability in order to manage customer expectation. Orange has implemented Volubill’s Business System (VBS) designed to manage user experience and interactivity with access and data services in real-time.
The implementation at Orange Reunion is just one of many in which Orange Group have utilized the expertise of Volubill. The Africa region is the second largest mobile market in the world with the fastest growth rate. In 2011 alone, the mobile install base increased by 14% reflecting the scarcity of fixed telephone infrastructure and youthful population, 40% of whom are under 15 and the majority of which have a preference for pre-paid mobile services. This ongoing surge in demand for data services and the growing trend in social networking has led to Volubill policy and charging installations at 15 other locations including, Senegal, Central Africa, Cameroon, Tunisia, Botswana and the Ivory Coast.
