Through various education venues in the late 1970s, Kruge "re-tooled" himself in the field of Information Technology. Over the next 33 years, he served in both technical and senior management positions for companies that included IBM, 3M, Ethan Allen, PepsiCo, Bigelow Tea and Health Net. During his work with IBM, he was a technical consultant and trainer specializing in teaching systems related coursework including teaching at a division of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Kruge pursued education in the systems field throughout his career, including obtaining postgraduate master certificate work in IT and project management through Villanova University.
