Sept. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- The Academic Associates method enables students of any age to increase their reading level, and gives them the ability to achieve success in school.  For ages 5 and up, regardless of learning difficulty, students typically raise their reading level by two to four years within 30 to 60 hours of instruction.  The students learn skills of decoding all 44 sounds of English, gain fluency and increase their comprehension.
As a result of boosting their reading skills in this way, they gain self-confidence and improve their academic performance.  Most children will read several books while in the program.  For many, this is the first time they have actually read a book.  The method works equally well with older students.  High school students who have struggled with advanced subject matter due to reading below grade level are enabled to read and comprehend the more difficult vocabulary of science and other subjects.
The Academic Associates Reading Program was developed by Cliff Ponder, a California elementary school teacher and school principal.  Mr. Ponder was frustrated that many of his brightest students failed at reading.  He has now taught hundreds of children and adults and established licensed programs in six countries.
