Holliston Day – Fun for All - Jensen-Sheehan’s Involvement goes back to event founding in 1983

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 17, 2012 - The annual Holliston Day event is right around the corner.  This wonderful community day is expected to draw a crowd of 5,000 to 6,000.  There will be lots for everyone to do – great food and family fun including a petting zoo, a parade and lots of performances from different departments of the high school.  

The event goes back to 1983 – and Bill Sheehan of Jensen-Sheehan Insurance was one of the original founders of the event.  Bill said “It is hard to believe it has been nearly 30 years since this event started.  I am so proud to have been one of the many people who are committed to Holliston to have had a place in making this event what it is today.”  While Bill is no longer an active part of the committee putting the event on, Jensen-Sheehan Insurance Agency continues to be an active participant.  We will have a booth and have a clown and face painting.  There will be a drawing and the grand prize is a tour of Holliston in Hercules (a 1926 Ford Model T) and lunch for four.  Hercules is the mascot for the insurance agency – as 1926 was the year the agency was founded and when auto insurance was just really starting to come on the scene.

The event is sponsored by the Holliston Business Association.  Bill Sheehan fondly remembers “It started out in a modest way, with the local businesses opening their doors on Holliston Day for a kind of mass ‘open house’.  It has grown over the years to be ‘the event’ in town.  Holliston is such a great community and it is wonderful that the whole town can be opened up for a day of fun and community spirit.”

Bill is tireless in his promotion of Holliston and making it the wonderful community it is today.  To that end, Bill is being recognized for all he has done for the town, not only his involvement in Holliston Day but for sponsoring numerous sports teams and various charities including the Friends of the Holliston Library which he had been involved in for many years.

All are invited to attend on Saturday September 22nd from 9 to 4, with a rain date of Saturday September 29th.  Whether you are a resident of Holliston or not, come see what the true spirit of community is all about.
