Halton Region estimates that each Halton household throws away almost 2.5 kilograms of hot beverage paper cups annually, and the potential benefit of recycling those cups is exceptional. The opportunity to recover what is otherwise deemed waste across the province and beyond will be assessed by Stewardship Ontario.
