Boston's restaurant Maximo's Takeout celebrates first birthday with charity sandwich launch

Maximo’s Takeout, the independently owned, award winning takeout restaurant situated in the heart of Watertown, is celebrating its 1st birthday with the launch of the “Perkins Panini”, in honor of local charity the Perkins School for the blind.

Sept. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Owned by Phillip Zeller and his wife, Betsy, a program manager at Harvard Business School, Maximo’s Takeout opened in September 2011 and takes its name from the family’s two children, Max and Morgan.

A restaurant family through and through, the couple met whilst working at the Cheesecake Factory in downtown Boston, married in 2007 and started Maximo’s four years later.

Maximo’s menus are new American with a Mediterranean edge, and are inspired by the owners’ love of traveling. They include a wide selection of options, including: salads, wraps, sandwiches, bruschetta, dumplings, grilled platters and burgers with delicious flavors from the US, Greece, Cyprus, China, Italy and Mexico, along with an excellent range of vegetarian and gluten free options.

Awarded “ Best new restaurant” and “Best burger in Watertown” locally, the firm offers a free home and office delivery service within a two-mile radius of the store and also supplies catering for businesses, meetings and events. For advance orders, Maximo’s can deliver catering orders almost anywhere in the greater Watertown area, including: Cambridge, Waltham, Newton, Brighton, Allson and Belmont.

Every Monday, for any customer who mentions the Perkins School, the restaurant donates 5% of the entire purchase to benefit the Perkins School for the blind and visually impaired, whether through an individual or business catering order.

Proprietor Phil Zeller comments, “As a community focused, family-owned restaurant, we are thrilled to be celebrating our first birthday and would like to thank our customers for all their support.”

“We love what we do: inspiring businesses and individuals with a wide range of delicious home-cooked, freshly prepared food which they can enjoy at work or at home.”

To celebrate their first birthday, Maximo’s will be offering free samples of the new Perkin’s Panini on Saturday 15th September, a BBQ chicken sandwich on your choice of bread, with shredded BBQ chicken, caramelized onions, grilled tomatoes and cheddar cheese.

The restaurant is also participating in Watertown’s “Faire on the Square” on September 22, offering attendees a selection of free samples and menus.

Starting September 15, Maximos invites instore customers to enjoy a piece of the birthday cake, with free mini cupcakes.

Maximo’s opening hours: Mon-Fri 11am to 9pm, Sat 12pm to 9pm and closed on Sundays.
