Follow on Google News | Warped Tour Alumni The Almighty Grind and Ozomatli Team-up for Live PerformanceTwo innovative power hitters of mainstream rock will share the stage at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.
By: TAG Music Group Shows like this don’t occur often, and it’s unusual to see the pairing of two prolific bands like T.A.G. and Ozomatli on the same bill. Harkening back to their meager beginnings, Fernando Navarro, guitarist for The Almighty Grind, reflects, “Years ago, when we first started playing live shows, we were fortunate enough to share the stage with some fairly well-known bands; groups like Static-X, The Guano Apes, Hed (PE), Trapt, Shuvel, Powder, Burning Star, and Pensativa to name a few. They’re all amazing bands with a great sound and following. However, playing a show with a band like Ozomatli is putting our performance career in a whole new arena. We’re playing with a band that has toured nationally, appeared on live television, and has won numerous awards for their songwriting, performances, and creativity. It’s going to be a very exciting opportunity and experience for us that we’re all very much looking forward to. Needless to say, we’re honored.” The Almighty Grind is no stranger to success themselves, having produced three independent albums within a short period of time that have gone on to appear in major motion pictures, television shows, commercials, and more recently video games. Their music has captured the attention of such astute organizations as the Los Angeles Music Awards, who recognized their album “Look at Yourself” as the Best Independent Rock Album of 2005. They play a unique blend of soulful, melodic rock and pop that’s laced with elements of hip hop and rap.
