Save America Gathering Urges Fasting as Christian Groups Converge on Capitol for Late October Events

Save America Gathering organizers are asking Messianic Jews, and, of course, believers from all gobal branches of Christianity, to engage in Bible based fasting, in addition to registering for the event, donating to assist with increasing financial burdens, and volunteering service in support of this historic sacred assembly. Save America Gathering planners also ask those interceding prayerfully, all around the world, for the Save America Gathering, to add fasting to their prayers.Types of biblical fasting include:

• Esther fast (Esther 4:16)—eating nothing for 3 days
• Daniel fast (Daniel 10:2–3)—eating no meat, wine, or rich food for 21 days
• Hebrew boys fast (Daniel 1:11–16)—eating vegetables and water
• The 40-day fast (Ex. 34:28, Deut. 9:18, 1 Kings 19:8, Matt. 4:2, etc.)
• Fasting as led by the Spirit

At the same time, the planners of the October 20, 2012 gathering of God's people, are directing The Church's attention to what amounts to a simultaneous call, received by several of God's other servants, which has led them to plan events of similar focus to that of the Save America Gathering, namely, saving the United States of America through the power of collective prayer, while gathered in spiritual unity at the nation's seat of power, Washington, DC.

As Reverend Kevin Richardson, one of the Servant Leaders of the sacred assembly so aptly put it, recently:

"Note that a remarkable convergence of simultaneous events with a similar focus will be taking place in Washington, DC, on that same Saturday, October 20. Intercessors For America (www.ifapray.org) will pray on the U.S. Capitol Building lawn and other sites in Washington, DC, in conjunction with Prayer Conferences being held around the nation. The African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network (www.aslpn.org) will join to pray and fast for America on the West Front Lawn of the Capitol from 10 am to 5 pm. Meanwhile, Jason Hershey of YWAM is organizing 40 days of 24/7 worship on the White House Ellipse (www.DavidsTentDC.org) that will raise a continuous offering to God from the evening of September 25 through November 5. While none of these gatherings has been planned in direct association with the Save America Gathering, their confluence suggests this is a spiritually strategic time in the history of our nation, and that a divine trumpet call has been heard."
