September 13th2012: DSCL presents the 18th edition of FENESTA OPEN NATIONAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 to be held at Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) under the aegis of All India Tennis Association during 8thOctober till 20th October 2012.
The tournament is a part of DSCL’s corporate policy of promoting sports in order to provide sporting talent with a platform from which they can move on to achieve bigger and better opportunities for themselves and for our nation. DSCL continues to keep the great tradition of supporting the latent tennis playing talent of India afloat under its brand name ‘FENESTA’.
Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship 2012 will be played at the R.K Khanna Stadium from 8th – 20thOctober. The details of the same are as below:

Speaking about the event, Mr. Ajay Shriram, Chairman and Sr. Managing Director and Mr Vikram Shriram, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) said “The Company’s policy has been to promote tennis at the national championship level so that players of each successive generation can propel themselves to larger tennis destinations. Over the years, the tournament has seen some of India’s most promising talent take to the courts at the prestigious DLTA. Some of the prominent names among these are J. Vishnu Vardhan, RohanBopanna, SomdevDevvarman,NitinKirtane, Yuki Bhambri,SaniaMirza, SaiJayalakshmi, RushmiChakravarty, Sonal Phadke, Radhika Tulpule,Rutuja Bhosale, Lisa Pereira, Isha Lakhani and Ankita & Sanaa Bhambri among others and promises to feature many more upcoming tennis stars in the future.
The 2011 edition – the first Fenesta Open Tennis Championship – saw the emergence of the generation next. Thewinners: 19-year old Yuki Bhambri and 15 year-old Rutuja Bhonsle. Having shown exceptional court skills in the championship, these players are now widely recognized as world-beaters and the future custodians of India’s tennis aspirations.
The prize money in the Men and Ladies Category: The Men’ Champion shall win a purse of Rs.1.50 Lacs. The Ladies’ Champion shall win a purse of Rs.1.0 Lac. This is the highest prize money in the domestic circuit.
The qualifying draw is restricted to 64 in all the categories except the Junior Girls ( Under 18, Under 16 and Under 14) where is the qualifying draw is restricted to 32 as per the rules intimated by the All India Tennis Association.
