Whitney Shay Debut CD “Soul Tonic” Released

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 14, 2012 - September is Soul Tonic September as Whitney Shay and STAT Records are proud to announce the release of her debut CD, “Soul Tonic”. Shay teamed with veteran musician/producer Archie Thompson to create “Soul Tonic”; a mixture of covers and originals, all with a retro soul/blues/R&B vibe. Released in August, it has seen strong early sales. According to Shay, “I couldn't be more excited about this album. It was worth the wait to create a debut record that I truly believe in. With the help and guidance of Archie Thompson, I feel we captured my personality and diversity as an artist. I hope my fans are as elated as I am with 'Soul Tonic'.”

Thompson adds, “I was intrigued by Whitney's voice after our first telephone conversation. After hearing her sing live, I knew I had to get her into the studio. When she sings, you feel it. The girl
has soul.”

Shay has fast become one of the busiest artists in San Diego with 40+ dates in September and October, performing with several of the area's top musicians including Robin Henkel & Billy Watson. Whitney fronts the blues/R&B group Whitney Shay & The Shakedowns as well as the sultry blues-jazz leaning Whitney Shay Trio/ Quartet. She also sings with the area's premiere big band, The JazzKatz Project.

To celebrate, the Soul Tonic CD Release Party has been scheduled for September 24th in the Celestial Ballroom, downstairs at the historic US Grant Hotel in San Diego. A stellar line-up has been assembled including Thompson, Nathan James, Ed Kornhauser, Troy Jennings, Jason Littlefield, Brian "Nucci" Cantrell and background vocals by "The Shaylettes", Miriam Dance-Leavy and Miss Annette DaBOMB!
