The national event, themed “Recovery Takes Root,” is being organized by CRC Health Group, parent company of East Indiana Treatment Center and the nation’s largest provider of behavioral health and addiction treatment services.
Over 100 of CRC’s drug and alcohol treatment centers across the country are planting trees to celebrate recovery. The events are part of a national initiative sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This year's Recovery Month theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: It's Worth It,” emphasizes that while the road to recovery may be difficult, the benefits of preventing and overcoming mental and substance use disorders are significant and valuable to individuals, families, and communities. The theme also highlights that people in recovery achieve healthy lifestyles, both physically and emotionally, and contribute in positive ways to their communities. They also prove to others that prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
Community members and the media are invited to tour East Indiana Treatment Center, ask questions about addiction treatment and recovery, and network with representatives from local community organizations. At 11 AM, Angie Pepper (www.angiepepper.com)
To arrange an interview or RSVP for the event, please contact Shanae Allen at (812) 537-1668, extension 144 or shallen@crchealth.com.
