TEFL England helps their students to see the world and have the time of their lives

TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) allows people to go abroad, work and travel by teaching English - meeting the worldwide demand for native English speaking teachers.

Sept. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Travel is hugely popular not just amongst younger generations but amongst older generations, too. TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) courses are a great way to travel whilst immersed in completely unfamiliar cultures. In working as an English teacher abroad, you become an important part of a local community, live there, work there and perhaps even turn into a bit of a local. You experience life abroad right from the heart of the country you are in. And it doesn’t just have to be one country, either…

TEFL course providers help thousands of native English speakers embark on a foreign adventure every day. One TEFL teacher named Amy, originally from Surrey, has used her TEFL England certificate to work in Peru, Europe and Mexico, enjoying life there to the full by travelling and experiencing all there is to offer. Now settling in Valencia, when speaking of her TEFL travels in Peru, she said:

“I went to Cusco and completed an exhausting but exhilarating 4 day walk to Machu Picchu. I boarded a cargo boat full of cows, monkeys, locals, food and hammocks for four days and sailed down the Amazon. There, I spent a month in the jungle with teachers I’d met previously.”

Unlike anything you would experience at home, TEFL allows you to be hurled into the unknown – in a good way. In Mexico, Amy described her employment package as “amazing” as they received free accommodation, bills and great wages, as well as getting free breakfast and lunch at her school every day.  Demand for English speakers all over the world is very high. There is a sense of urgency in learning English in some countries, as many see it as key in their international development. Penny Rollinson, a Director of Studies for Cambridge House in Spain, when speaking of the demand there stated:

“There is plenty of work for teachers, despite the current recession, as the Spanish are prepared to invest both time and money in learning a language…and so make it easier for them to either find work abroad or in Spain.”

She also described having a high level of English language skills as “indispensable” for any Spaniard who wishes to progress in both academic and professional fields.

TEFL is a fantastic way to fund worldwide travel, as wages and employment extras (like flights, accommodation and insurance) are often included. A TEFL experience allows for self-development, seeing the world and ultimately, the time of your life.
