The author says that the water supply at Kolar Gold Mines is one of the worst and needs immediate attention. The water tankers have a very high fluoride content which is the source of several water borne diseases. The municipal department doesn’t give due attention to its responsibilities and thus the lighting, roads, sewage, water, etc do not work properly. The people living there have to collect the money for such purposes and remedy it themselves. The local hospitals too lack the basic medical amenities and if a person has a heart attack they will have to take him 30 km further for any proper treatment. The author points out to all these problems that K.G.M and the people living there have to face in their lives.
