Purvaai to unveil Autumn-Winter Collection at Top Drawer London

Sept. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- After a busy Spring-Summer season, beginning with its launch at Top Drawer-Home 2012 in January, and subsequent participation in various trade and retail shows across the country, Purvaai, a multi-channel seller of design-led home textiles is preparing to exhibit at the prestigious trade show ‘Top Drawer Autumn’, at London’s Olympia, from 16th to18th September, 2012

Top Drawer, which takes place twice a year, is a unique retail buying event, where buyers ranging from independent high-street shops to department stores come to look for the next big thing in design-inspired products.

“As we prepare for Top Drawer’s Autumn show, what is very gratifying to us is knowing we’re in the best company. Top Drawer’s selection policy for quality and design-led collections is approved by an independent committee, therefore, being able to exhibit here means that we’ve been handpicked from hundreds of new and exciting design-led companies and we can count ourselves amongst the best of British design” observes Sonali Deshpande, Co-founder and Director of Purvaai.

After a very successful Spring-Summer, Purvaai will now be showcased in Top Drawer Autumn and will introduce at the show its brand new Autumn-Winter 2012 collection comprising specially designed home linen such as cushions, throws, and tea towels inspired by traditional arts and crafts such as intricate metal-inlay work, tie and dye and hand-woven wool from the foothills of the Himalayas.

A very special aspect of this season’s collection is that some of the pieces on offer have been designed by talented young British Designers.

“With the wealth of design talent in universities and colleges across the UK, it was our good fortune to be able to harness some of that through our first ever Home Textile design competition.” said Priya Raghavan, Co-founder and Director of Purvaai. “Moreover, we have even put some of the winning entries into production, and the designs (as well as the designers) can be seen at our stand at Top Drawer Autumn.

Purvaai, which means ‘Winds from the East’ was founded to explore and reflect the diversity of ancient Indian art and craft and its influences on modern home décor. Its unique products largely use locally sourced natural fabrics, handcrafted textiles and traditional embroidery techniques.
