Joseph Bennett is a career mariner, who actively deployed his “sea legs” so to speak, early in his life. In 1964, he joined the US Navy and worked as a surgical hospital Corpsman aboard the USS Ticonderoga CVA 14. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1969. For the next twenty-four years he was a commercial fisherman in Alaska. In 1989, the Exxon Valdez’s (an oil tanker bound for Long Beach California) oil spill occurred in Prince William Sound on March 24th

The Valdez oil spill not only devastated 1,100 miles of non-continuous coastline in Alaska, this catastrophic event also ended Joseph’s fishing career and charter business in Alaska but also wreaked havoc in his personal life. Joseph and his family lost everything as a result of the Exxon Valdez oil spill with a subsequent divorce.

Joseph didn’t realize it but for several years he was on a spiritual path leading him to the Crystal Skull “Compassion” before he would actually become the caretaker for Compassion and being reunited with his college love, his adored Annie who will become the voice of "Compassion" The Sacred Feminine.

In 2006, Joseph Bennett came across by accident a crystal skull in an import store in Carmel, California. The skull had belonged to a close friend of the shop owners, who had brought it to California from Africa. Upon his death his family liquidated the estate and asked the import store to sell the crystal skull for them. He named this crystal skull "Compassion."

Joseph is indeed is captain of his ship (his life) sailing across unfamiliar waters (his spiritual journey) with the Crystal Skull Compassion and Annie as his navigators.
