This year's conference themes include both Sustainability and New Sources of Raw Materials, both of which are of key importance to Asia Plantation Capital, a platinum sponsor of the IFEAT event.
In recent years Asia Plantation Capital (APC) has been investing strategically in sustainable Agarwood plantations, with trees verified by CITES, and also producing high quality Oud oil from cutting edge distillation techniques and processes, cooperating extensively with leading academic researchers at the Prince of Songkla University in Thailand. Indeed a new manufacturing facility is currently being built using patents jointly held between the University Team and APC.
Fragrance du Bois is a new business created this year with the help of APC that is unique in that it represents probably the first time in recent history where the growth, processing, blending & manufacture and finally the creation of fragrances falls under the same corporate structure. The investments are not just internal, in Thailand APC is also building the country's first perfumery laboratory and fragrance school.
Simon French of Fragrance du Bois explains that "Asia Plantation Capital is an important partner in this venture and it gives Fragrance du Bois a unique position in the perception of the user. Sustainability is not just a recent lifestyle choice for APC, it is written into the very fabric of their daily operations".
Fragrance du Bois has a presence in several locations around the world with the newest being a 2,000 sq ft Showroom and bespoke perfumery in Singapore which will be opened in time for IFEAT. A Perfumery is also being opened in Dubai later in the year, where sales are handled by Shaima Matar, Oud Oil Sales Director at Asia Plantation Capital LLC currently based in the Arenco Tower.
