As a former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir is no stranger to athletic distinction. A black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Mir was signed by the UFC in 2001. In 2004 he earned the UFC heavyweight championship title. He holds the record for most victories, as well as most victories by submission, in UFC heavyweight division history. Mir lives in Las Vegas with his wife and four children. He considers being a father his most important title.
At Oklahoma State University, Mark Muñoz earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and the title of NCAA national champion along with back-to-back All-American honors. He was also a three-year member of the USA Junior National Wrestling Team, where, in 1998, he won a silver medal.
In 2007, while studying for a master’s degree and working full-time as a college wrestling coach, Muñoz began to train in MMA. He was signed by the UFC in 2008. Today he is a UFC middleweight title contender, who also owns and manages an MMA training facility, Reign Training Center, in Lake Forest, Calif., where he resides with his wife Kristi and their four children.
