5% Giving Back Day Whole Foods Market-Aventura
The Foundation is best known for their 11 year old founder, Joshua Williams, who believes that neither child, nor their family should be left hungry. Joshua’s Heart has worked tirelessly with Whole Foods Market since 2009 to bring food to communities throughout South Florida and feed the homeless and the hungry, all because of the vision and the heart of a child named Joshua. He has so instilled a spirit of giving back in everyone he touches that he has won the hearts of the WFM Team Members, and they had this to say about this wonderful experience.
“Joshua and his mission to stomp out hunger provide constant inspiration to me and our team members. He reminds us that one person, no matter how small, can make a difference,”
“By simply stocking up on their regular groceries, our customers were able to reach the thousands of families throughout Miami that are forced to depend on the generosity of others to have a simple meal. Joshua is an inspiration for our customers and team members alike, who realize that we all can make an immediate impact on hunger, no matter our age or experience.”
The Five Percent Day Program is a great way for our stores to give back to our local communities,”
"Joshua's story has shown us that no dream is too big," said Alina Roche, Marketing Representative for Whole Foods Market in Pinecrest. "Our 5% Days give local organizations, like Joshua's Heart Foundation, the support they need to make dreams come true." – raised over $4,000.
“With support from local businesses like Whole Foods Market, we continue to build our efforts to feed the needy and it helps bring us closer to achieving our mission to “Stomp Out Hunger”, said Joshua Williams. “With the donations we receive from events like 5% Community Giving Days, it makes our job easier and helps make families happier and whole when they can put nutritious food on the table for a family meal”.
Joshua’s Heart has distributed over 400,000 lbs of food since opening its doors and continues to expand its efforts to feed families in need.
