Independent Hollywood Announces Film and Concert Tour with Top Hip-Hop and R&B Acts of the 90s

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 12, 2012 - (LOS ANGELES, CA) Independent Hollywood is proud to announce the launch of the “90s Nostalgia Film and Music Tour”, taking place on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the new epicenter of Hollywood entertainment, L.A. Live (http://www.lalive.com), located at 800 W. Olympic Blvd in Downtown,Los Angeles.

Independent Hollywood has partnered with Divine Brown Media Group, Jadar Entertainment, Southern Peach Entertainment and Rewind The Music to present this unique event, fusing Film, Music and Fine Art together for a one of a kind experience.

The evening of exclusive events will kick-off at the Regal Cinemas with a VIP Press Reception, followed by the red carpet premiere of “Back Then”, written and directed by Danielle L. Ross of Southern Peach Entertainment. The filmmaker will present a special “Director’s Cut” of the romantic comedy, that flashes back to the early 1990s when the lead character Gavin Miller played by Aaron D. Spears (Bold and the Beautiful) receives a visit from a former crush. Spears recently secured a leading role playing opposite Gabrielle Union in “Being Mary Jane”, a new drama by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, set to launch on the BET network in early 2013. Also featured in the film are Malinda Williams (Soul Food, Daddy’s Little Girls) along with Tae Heckard and Gabrielle Dennis of the long running television series “The Game”. Other notable cast members include Debra Wilson (Avatar, MadTV) and Angell Conwell (Baby Boy, Soul Plane).

Also scheduled to screen is the intensely touching short film “Pull” presented by The Cure Network and Produced by one of the founding members of Death Row Records, B.J. King.  The film introduces Actor/Comedian Juhahn Jones and features veterans of stage and film Keith Burke (Life, Young & the Restless), Vincent M. Ward (The Game, True Blood), Matt Grace and Chuck Taylor rounding out the cast.

After the premiere, the Conga Room will host a throwback-themed concert and after party, featuring a special Mixmaster show by D.J. and Music Producer, D.J. BattleCat with special performances from classic Hip-Hop and R&B acts of the 90s, to be announced. An Art Exhibit will also be on display with artwork by Jamile Hamilton who will present her latest collection “STAIND” and J. Taylor showcasing a mix of his most popular collections.
