Shopping in a thrift store can lead to some great values. In the case of main character Dan Harper, hunting for bargains during his lunch hour becomes a life changing experience. In the entertaining paranormal thriller novel "Secondhand Sight" by author John Leonard, Harper is thrust into a world of bizarre visions and communications with the dead, when purchasing a secondhand tie opens a doorway into the paranormal.
“I’ve always loved to write and took every creative-writing elective I could while in school,” said author John Leonard during a recent interview. “I started writing professionally in late October 2006. Nevertheless, roaming around inside my head have always been stories to tell. A couple of career changes later, my wife encouraged me to turn storytelling into writing.”
“Secondhand Sight” moves at an even pace while an atmosphere of intrigue builds until the story’s exciting climax at the end. The portrayal of the characters, their interactions, emotions and descriptions of the paranormal events in the story are well written and enjoyable.
When asked about his belief in the paranormal, John Leonard replied, “I grew up in Savannah, Georgia, which has a reputation as one of the most haunted cities in the U.S.” He continued, “One of my best friends lived in a house where I saw more than my fair share of paranormal activity, firsthand, up close and personal. So it’s not hard for me to believe in ghosts.”
Whether or not you are a believer in certain aspects of the paranormal, this novel will never disappoint, as he writes great characters with very realistic dialog.
“Secondhand Sight” is published by Each Voice Publishing, and is available online at Amazon and other fine retailers.
