Sept. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Zak is one personal trainer in London that makes sure his training is truly personal. Blending personality and humour into each session he works on every aspect of a client’s health and wellbeing. His clients across London are unanimous in their praise for him. The fun and variety he injects into each session keeps their sessions fresh and has helped propel Zak to the top echelons of the fitness Industry where he is now recognised as a leading personal trainer in Clapham and throughout the whole of South West London.

Kiwi-born Zak Taylor is certainly no stranger to fitness. His father was an Olympic athlete and he grew up playing rugby and swimming at national level. His passion for fitness took him to University where he obtained a degree in Exercise Physiology. After graduating he worked as a sports physiologist for New Zealand Rugby team before turning his knowledge into a passion for helping others.

”I love fitness but I am all about fun. Exercise should be just that and my routines use a blend of cardio, resistance and core exercises to make sure clients are enjoying themselves and working towards their goals. I adopt a light-hearted approach which I believe puts my clients at ease and helps them to relax. Fitness should never be boring or stuffy and far too many people are put off because their idea of exercise is repetitive pounding up and down on a treadmill. I consider myself to be just a regular personal trainer but I know how to make sure exercise is tailored and fun!”

Sarah Calbrooke, one of Zak’s client’s in Richmond, London  explains, “I had been searching for a personal trainer in Richmond, but had never really made that step forward. I suppose I had been putting it off. I finally plucked up the courage and met for a consultation and instantly felt like we clicked. Just six months on and I have lost a dress size and made such significant changes to my general health. Zak is an exceptional personal trainer and his personal commitment to helping me reach my goals has been utterly inspiring.”

Despite his modesty, he has already worked with some leading celebrity clients in London and has been asked to appear in an upcoming episode of The Biggest Loser. “For me it’s not about celebrity and I never consider myself a celebrity personal trainer. To be honest I don’t really know what that term means. I do this job because I have a love for helping ordinary folks to change their health and I think I will still be doing this when I’m old and grey. It’s a way of life for me and I treat all my clients the same.”

Jill Edmunds and her husband are two clients that have been amazed with their own transformations. "We have always kept fit and thought we knew what we were doing. We had a personal trainer in Kingston once before at a gym, but never really made the progress we had wanted. When we started working with Zak he brought brand new concepts to our training that we had never encountered before." Zak works with clients in a holistic way, taking into account their lifestyle, diet and activity levels to compose a program that is specifically targeted towards long term health. “My programs are kind of unique. They are based upon 15 years experience of working with both ordinary people and professional athletes in New Zealand. I know what works for clients and I take great pride in the “wows” when it comes to measurement day! My approach goes beyond just personal training sessions. I ask my clients to follow various aspects of my nutritional plan which looks, amongst other things, at reducing processed food and moderating consumption of dairy, refined sugar and salt in the diet. I also ask my clients to increase their intake of fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods as well as increasing their water consumption.”

Based in London, Zak works with both private clients and a range of corporate fitness clients conducting both personal training sessions in the home and group sessions in the workplace. “I love to keep my days fresh and varied. I am lucky that I have a great deal of diversity in both my client base and the goals of each of my clients. From weight loss to cardiac rehab and from my youngest client who is fifteen years old to my most senior client who is in her seventies – no two client sessions are ever the same!” And when it comes to London he has no regrets about moving here, “London is an amazing city and I feel so at home here. It’s exciting and vibrant with so many different clients. For a personal trainer in London there are great opportunities to progress your career here.”
