Saving money was not the only reason this frugal duo started their weekly habit of rummaging through garage and estate sales. As antique and collectible dealers, it was a major source of unique and unusual products for their store. However, in the meantime they learned many short cuts and gained many skills that are shared in the book.
Although they found many sites online offering various tips on having or shopping garage sales, they found no one place that really put it all together and covered all the bases. Their hope is that the new book does just that. "Not only can people learn how we find wonderful collectible and antique items," Michelle shared, "But they'll also learn how to make the best deal, how to prepare their route, what to take along, how to make minor repairs to small purchases and a lot more."
Also included in the book is a chapter on many creative uses for garage sale finds, such as decorating a college dorm room, finding brand new items to use as gifts, equipping your pet, setting up a home gym and more, all using low priced garage sale finds.
"Never has there been a better time to learn the smartest techniques for stretching your dollar than now," Michelle explained. "With the tools we share in the book, our readers will be amazed at their ability to continue to have beautiful and practical things on a shoestring budget."
