$150 Homemade Halloween Costume Contest

Sept. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Have you ever made your own Halloween costume? Did you take a picture of it? If so, please submit it to my Homemade Halloween costume contest for a chance to win as much as $150! Imagine all the crafting tools or supplies you can buy!

What do I mean by being homemade? I simply mean not a purchased costume. I realize you may not be making every single part of the costume yourself. You may have pieced different things together to come up with an entirely original idea. That is fine. It just cannot be a costume out of a bag that you bought or rented.

Next,  simply upload up to four photos of your homemade costume and add in a write-up about the materials you used and how you made it. Be sure you made the costume yourself and that the photo is yours.

Your costume will appear on the Homemade Halloween costumes page. After you submission is approved, I will also place the photo on the Crafts For All Seasons Facebook page. Tell your friends to come to our page and like your costume, because there is also a prize for your costume having the most Facebook likes!

CONTEST RULES

1. At least one photo (maximum of four) per contest entry is required. Photos must be your own. By submitting your entry you are agreeing for the photo to also be placed not only on the Crafts For All Seasons website, but also the Crafts For All Seasons Facebook page. Please do not submit your costume photos to the Facebook page, as I will do that for you after your entry has been accepted.

2. List of materials used and a step-by-step tutorial on how the costume was made is required. Your write-up must be original and must NOT appear on other websites or blogs. You can blog about your project but please reword your tutorial as Google penalizes sites with the same wordings. Absolutely no duplicate content please.

3. Your entry must be at least 150 words long.

4. Enter as many times as you like. More entries, more chances of winning!

5. Spread the word by placing our contest button on your blog's sidebar and linking it to this contest page.

6. Contest will run from September 5, 2012 to November 5, 2012. Lots of time for you to make your costume and join in!

Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com has the right to modify and enhance your submission after the contest ends. This is because each new costume entry becomes its own webpage on this site. Titles and content may have to be modified slightly to enhance for keyword searches for the page, so that other visitors will be able to find the page.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

50% Comprehensiveness of Tutorial. The goal of your submission is to become its own complete webpage. Detailed step-by-step instructions would certainly help a lot, and preference will be given to longer written submissions, and those entries which have more than one photo. If you have step by step photos of how the costume was made, that is even better. Each entry must be at least 150 words long.

25% Creativity. If it’s a new and original idea you will get extra points from me!

25% Quality of Photos. Sometimes, all it takes for aperson to get inspired is a wonderful photo. Share a good photo of your costume for extra points.

To be true to our goal of inspiring other crafters to make homemade costumes, I am strictly requiring the following for every submission:

1. At least one photo of your costume (But you can upload up to four!);
2. A list of tools and supplies used,
3. A step-by-step tutorial on how to make the costume, and;
4. Your entry must be at least 150 words long.


All write-ups must be original and must NOT appear on any other site or blog. Of course, you can blog about your project and post instructions on your own site or blog but please rewrite your article. Google penalizes sites for duplicate content (two or more posts in exact wording) and both our sites may suffer. Absolutely no duplicate content please.

All entries must be (i) original; (ii) complete (as determined by Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com); and (iii) in English. Any submission that does not comply with the aforementioned criteria will be disqualified.

By entering the contest, participants grant Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com the right to use and publish their ideas and photos on the website and/or any other media, including our Facebook page.

We are not responsible for any entries not received due to any technical problems such as intermittent internet connection, service outages or delays, or any other glitches.

We reserve the right to reject any entry on the basis of unsuitability or unoriginality at our own discretion.

Contest Period

Contest begins on September 5, 2012. Contest ends on November 5, 2012 at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Winners will be selected by November 12, 2012 and will be notified by email. If a winner is unable for whatever reason to accept his or her prize within seven (7) days, then Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com reserves the right to award the prize to another participant.

In the unlikely event that there are ten (10) or less costume entries, no prizes will be awarded.

Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest in the events of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other conditions which corrupt or affect the administration, fairness and proper conduct of the contest.


Use Your Best Judgment

You are responsible for everything you upload. Please remember this is a family site and many of my visitors are young adults. Inappropriate costumes that are not in good taste will be removed and will not be considered for judging. Illegal or prohibited content will be reported to the authorities.

Prizes

Main Prizes
One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive US$100. One (1) Second Prize Winner will receive US$50. One (1) Prize winner will receive US$50 for the most “likes” on the Facebook page as ofNovember 5, 2012 at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). All prizes will be awarded via Paypal. The same entry may be eligible to win either the first prize or second prize, as well as the Facebook likes prize, if that same costume receives the most likes.

Winner is solely responsible for any and all taxes on prize as well as any and all expenses incidental to entering the contest and/or claiming the prize.

Prizes will be awarded within fourteen (14) days from selection of winners. No substitution allowed except at the discretion of Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com. Prizes are not transferrable.

Conditions of Participation

By entering this contest, you agree explicitly that all components of your costume and your supporting write-up are indeed original creations. You also agree to release Crafts-For-All-Seasons.com from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the contest including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, or rights of publicity or privacy.
