Sept. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Kansas City—Freelance writer and online marketer Phyllis Edson announced today small businesses may be losing businesses by not investing in their websites.
“Websites may be the first contact a customer has with a business,” said Edson.  “If there’s not enough website content for the customer to get the information he needs and to keep him clicking through the website, that may be money lost.”
In addition to content, Edson said that business owners can make several improvements to websites that will help bring traffic to the site and business through the door.
Edson suggests including keywords.   The website should include keywords.  That is, words and phrases that people are searching for through the search engines.  Without those keywords, the search engines and the customers will miss your website.
Also, include the business location.  Be sure to include on each and every page of your website your business address.  At least include the city, state and country so that the search engines can find your business when they search for terms related to your business and a location.
“Making a few changes to the business website will certainly help the search engines and customers find your business online,” she said.
