As an author, filmmaker, speaker, and co-founder of Northeastern University’s Mentors in Violence Prevention program, Katz has devoted his career to gender violence prevention. Widely published in academic journals, Katz also maintains a blog about masculinities and politics on The Huffington Post. His influential book, The Macho Paradox, Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help, like all of his work, aims to “reframe the conversation in the field of gender violence prevention.”
Katz has been involved with everything from the U.S. secretary of defense's Task Force on Domestic Violence in the Military to the Liz Claiborne Inc.'s award-winning “Women's Work” campaign. He holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts-
