Follow on Google News | Limerick Reinvention Day 2012 From Local to GlobalThe University Arena at the University of Limerick will be the venue for a unique event led by Limerick man John Garrett, which aims to positively affect the shape of Limerick's future economic landscape.
By: University of Limerick According to event organiser John Garrett, a long time advocate of Limerick: “Preparation, work ethic, facing challenge and believing in your vision are just some of the characteristics essential to success in business and sport. “If one desires to be a winner, one must function like one. If we do that together, we can reinvent ourselves and Limerick. The time is ripe for Limerick to go from Local to Global," said Mr. Garrett. Limerick’ Limerick's potential will be unveiled by Marie O'Riordan, a native of Croagh, who has built her business to span 151 countries. In doing so, Marie has become an Honorary Award Winning Philanthropist, having worked with Global Influencers including Oprah Winfrey, Mother Teresa, and many European and World Champion athletes seen recently at the London Olympic Games. Marie said she jumped at the chance to get involved with the reinvention of her home town. “It is very progressive of a city with such a wealth of history to be looking at reinventing itself. 2012 is a prime and ripe time for the reinvention of any city in recessionary times but it is very strategic of Limerick to do so,” she said. “I feel you have to make it internationally before you have truly made it at home. Now that I have I want to give something back to the county I come from,” Marie added. All individuals, clubs and associations are requested to confirm their attendance by contacting LimerickReinvention@ End
