Palace on Wheels
In the first trip, 54 tourists from different parts of the world are traveling on this train. The train has the capacity of carrying 104 passengers at a time. Former Union Minister Motilal Bohra, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Mahadeo Singh Khandela and RTDC Chairman Randeep Dhankhar flagged off the train. Various other dignitaries were also present at the event.
The royal train, which started operating from 1982 and pioneered luxury train traveling in India, starts its journey every Wednesday during the months of September to April. The train has 23 coaches comprising of 14 Saloons, a spa coach, two restaurants – Maharaja and Maharani and a reception cum bar.
