Gulfport Business Recovery Center Opens Sept. 11

SBA opens office for Hurricane Issac loan applications for Mississippi business and nonprofits

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 10, 2012 - A Business Recovery Center under the United States Small Business Administration will open Sept. 11 in Gulfport, MS.  The center will provide  assistance to business owners seeking disaster assistance for losses caused by Hurricane Issac that began on August 26.

The Harrison County center is located at SBA Gulfport Branch Office, Hancock Bank Plaza, 2510 14th Street, Ste. 103 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Businesses and nonprofits of any size may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.

The Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is designed to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations.  This assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical property damage.  To apply online, go to SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

Deadline to return applications for physical property damage is October 31, 2012. Deadline to return economic injury applications is May 30, 2013.
