Registered Practical Nurses of St. Peter’s Hospital, a division of Hamilton Health Sciences, c

Sept. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- It has come to the attention of the public, that within the health care system in the Province of Ontario, Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) working in St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, have been patiently waiting while representatives of their duly elected CUPE Union fights for the money that has been owed to them as well as bring their wages up to par with other hospitals and institutions.

Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) of St. Peter’s Hospital, a division of Hamilton Health Sciences, continue to work without a contract and have not had a cost of living or wage increase in almost ten (10) years.

Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) are constantly being expected to work to the full scope of their practice while continuing to have more responsibilities added to their job descriptions while maintaining their high professional standards.

We therefore request that the duly elected officials to whom this petition is being addressed act within their capacity to assist the Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) of St. Peter’s Hospital, in Hamilton, Ontario, in their battle for a new contract, which includes fair and reasonable settlement, retroactive pay, wage increase and a cost of living increase.
