Sept. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- For many celebrities, a Caribbean vacation is simply that – a Caribbean vacation – white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and tons of pampering.  For the Jackson family, Erika ensured that their trip to the Bahamas was a life experience that she hopes her children will never forget.  As the wife of Randy Jackson, Erika is blessed with the finer things in life, which puts her in the fortunate position to alleviate the pain and suffering of others – especially children.   When Erika decided that the family vacation would be in the Bahamas, she immediately sent a text to Rosie [Hodge-Adams] to find out about helping the children in need on the island.  After receiving the information, Erika contacted The Children’s Emergency Hostel to find out the needs of the facility. Not only did Erika supply those needs, but she also took her two children – Zoe and Jordan, with her to deliver the supplies to the home.

Erika shared her Bahamas experience at Children of the Caribbean Foundation’s 2nd Annual Friend-Raiser Committee Meeting:  “When I attend our meetings and hear about the plight of children in need, in my head I imagine what their situation is like.  But going to Nassau and seeing first hand what some children in the Caribbean experience as a part of their childhood, makes me more committed to helping.”  Erika, who is also pursing studies in Psychology and Social Work, is not only dedicated to the causes of Children of the Caribbean Foundation, but is equipped with the skills to assess the needs and provide the necessary assistance that the Foundation offers children across the Caribbean.
