Founder David Blackford and "thats me Mike D" will host a 8.5 Mile one way paddle down the Wekiva River. Starting at 8:30am we will luanch from Kings Landing and Paddle the 8.5 Miles down to the take out at Wekiva Island. Along the way we will stop for lunch and enjoy the sites and sounds of old Florida. This is a one way paddle but please come prepared for portages, logs, shallows and wild life. As your guide I will work with everyone to point out downed trees and branches under the water. You will be on your own when it comes to common sense and handling any issues between you, your board and mother earth. If you have a shorty fin I recommend it. I run a 6.5 true aimes and have the best luck. stock fins are fine but just be prepared to make some sudden moves at times if not a bit of swimming and diving. All types of boards are welcome. I use my race and touring boards and have yet to ruin any. Again we are all responsible for ourselves, so along with water, sun block, lunch and water shoes bring your HEAD!! At the end we will take out at Wekiva Island. Depending on what you have arranged we will load up and head back to the launch site to regroup and head home.... if this sounds like a paddle you can handle please feel free to join us. Ill be arriving as early as Kings opens its gates to unload and get my truck and trailer down to the pickup site (approx 30 min round trip). Bring a friend, bring a couple cars and make this a awesome day for everyone. Lets get out there and have some fun.
