Kevin Gayda Wins $1m In Surfing Contest

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 7, 2012 - MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, KANSAS — Kevin Gayda took first place in this year's annual Middle of Nowhere, Kansas Pipe Contest. Gayda took on major surfers like Kelly Slater, Billy Kemper, and Jadson Andre in three different pipe qualifying rounds. In each round, Gayda placed first, setting the bar by shredding some serious tide and pulling off some incredible barrels.

The $1 Million prize was put together mostly by major sponsors to the event. The prize is surely enough to get by for a while on, but we don't see Gayda leaving the water anytime soon.

Gayda may be the next biggest thing to hit the tides. One thing is for sure, this is not the last time we will see Kevin Gayda.

Our reporter caught up with Kevin Gayda and he had this to say:

KEVIN GAYDA: hi

NEWS GUY (ME): hi

KEVIN GAYDA: you got some questions for me?

NEWS GUY (ME): Yeah, so you won a surf contest huh?

KEVIN GAYDA: Yep I sure did.

NEWS GUY (ME): Why did you do it?

KEVIN GAYDA: Well, I wanted to win. I'm a winner see and that's what I do. If I set my mind to something I win it.

NEWS GUY (ME): That's really nice.

KEVIN GAYDA: Yeah I know

KEVIN GAYDA: What?
