Organizer “Cecille B. DeRonnie,” (better known as Ron Tucker, President of the Beaufort Film Society), said there will be some exciting personalities in attendance.
We will all have the opportunity to socialize with the likes of Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth, Greta Garbo and other glamorous stars of yesteryear. If any of our real resident movie stars are in town, they may show up, too.”
Sponsored by The Town of Port Royal and Beaufort & Port Royal Wedding and Events, the party is planned for Saturday, October 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Shed in Port Royal. It is a fundraiser for the annual Beaufort International Film Festival scheduled in February, 2013. The cost is $55 per person and includes entertainment, food and adult beverages. For an extra $25, film society members will dress you up like a glamorous king or queen of the cinema.
“We’re encouraging everyone to get into the spirit of Old Hollywood and come dressed as your favorite movie star or character from a TV show. It will be a ‘grown-up, dress-up red carpet spectacular.’
We are very grateful to the Town of Port Royal for providing such a perfect location and we want everyone to enjoy this great venue whether they are a star or a fan,” Tucker said.
Tucker said the Shed will be transformed into a vintage Hollywood Theatre for all the stars to shine by professional event planners at Plum Productions (with Designer/Owner Jodie Miller) of Beaufort, SC . Frank Sinatra (aka Trae Gurley at www.traegurley.com ) will perform and there will be a contest to see who can recognize the most ‘stars’. Those who attend are warned to watch out for the paparazzi. Know “who” you’re wearing in case the question comes up.
Tickets are available online at www.beaufortfilmfund.eventbrite.com or can also be purchased at the Beaufort Film Society office located at 708 Carteret St, Beaufort, SC.
