The purpose for the move is to avoid construction underway which would either damage the trees or stop the construction. Big Trees Operation’s Manager, Todd Holmes stated “We’ve been happy to report that the project has been moving forward very well. All of the trees have ‘hardened off’ which means the new growth has become stable and secure as part of the trees standard foliage, so now this makes the trees exceptionally ready for transplanting. We try to schedule these projects of large tree transplants to be ready to move in the fall. Fall is the best time to plant, and this becomes even more vital with larger trees. So we fully expect to see this project come to a successful conclusion.”
