The most popular models of Subaru vehicles sold this August were the Subaru Outback wagon and the Subaru Impreza compact sedan. The Outback sold 11,285 units, for a 49 percent increase over last year. The Impreza sold 4,719 units for an increase of 84 percent over 2011.

Subaru representatives say the company will increase production at their U.S. plants to meet the increased demands, and expect that auto sales in the U.S. will continue to improve through the remainder of 2012.
